The main difference is the switch to Berkelium and libavg 1.6.0. That gives us better stability, a newer browser rendering engine and also support for some new things like on-GPU effects. The client now actually has support for doing things like adding drop shadows automatically, spinning and rotating animations etc. Eventually support for this will be added to the server so you can take advantage of it.
