Tags - Adding/Editing/Assigning

If you are using a version 2.x CMS, please use the following link: Tags - Adding / Editing / Assigning - v2

Tags can be assigned to Layouts, Campaigns, Templates, Playlists, Media and Displays/ Display Groups in order to bring about organisation and structure within the CMS.

Use the available Tag filter fields throughout the CMS to refine searches!

All created Tags can be managed by navigating to the Tags page under the Administration section of the main menu.

Use the options here to easily filter Tags and only see only those that have set associated Values!

Click on the Row Menu of a Tag to Edit or Delete.

Edit allows a User to rename, set associated Values and enable/disable the Required Value function.

Tags can also be deleted in bulk from this page. Click on the Tags that need to be deleted to highlight and use the With Selected drop down menu at the bottom of the page and click Delete.

The deletion of Tags is irreversible, so use this function with care.

Adding Tags

New Tags can be added to the Tags page using the Add Tag button or Tags can be added directly to a Layout, Campaign, Template, Playlist, Media file, Display and Display Group.

When adding Tags you can optionally create a Value to be associated with the Tag.

  • Free type the Tag Value to be used with the Tag:

  • Click enter on your keyboard to confirm.

The Tag field will update to show the Tag|Value

Tags can also be set to have a Required Value so that a Value must be selected in order for a User to save the form. This option can be enabled when Adding a new Tag or Editing existing Tags from the Tags page.

Assigning Tags

On entering text in the Tag field on forms, an auto-complete helper will show possible matches to make it easier for Users to see what Tags are available to select from.

Tags that have defined associated Values will be shown in the Tag value drop down menu.
You can see in the image below that the colour Tag already has associated values of Red, Green and Blue shown as Tag values to select from.

If the Tag Value is already known then this can also be typed in the field using the Tag|Value format!

If the Required Value checkbox has been ticked for this Tag then a Value must be selected in order to save the form.

Users can add an associated Value to a Tag that does not already have a predefined value by entering the value to associate with the Tag in the Tag value field!

If a Tag value is not needed, this field can be left blank.

Tags can also be assigned to multiple elements using the With Selected option at the bottom of Grids!

When exporting a Layout all assigned Layout, Playlist and Media Tags will be exported. Select the Import Tags option to add these Tags on Layout import.
